The NJIT Aikido Club is pleased to announce its upcoming Nippon Toho Seminar with Meik Skoss on Saturday & Sunday, April 4 & 5.
Building on the basic framework of the Kendo no Kata, and informed by
his many years of training in a wide range of martial arts, Skoss Sensei's two day introduction to fundamentals of Japanese swordsmanship will benefit beginning, intermediate and advanced practitioners of Japanese sword arts, whatever specific tradition they may study or wish to study. Also covered will be basics of Chuwa Ryu, Skoss Sensei's system of short-sword work.
Attendees should bring both long and short swords.
Training will run from 10-12 and 2-4 each day in the second-floor Multipurpose Room of the Zoom & Estelle Fleisher Gymnasium at NJIT in Newark, NJ, right next to the Warren Street Stop on the Newark Light Rail. Parking is also available by pre-arrangement.
Cost of the seminar is $150 for both days, $100 for Saturday only. Because the Sunday classes will build on the material studied on Saturday, one day registration is not available for Sunday.
