ST:TNG - Aikido in third episode.

I'm currently down with a cold, so I found this to be unusually amusing - in the third episode of Star Trek : The Next Generation, named "Code Of Honor", we discover, that Tasha Yar, an Enterprise security officer, was skilled in "Aikido".

Aikido didn't help her from being pulled down into the tarpit, or stop her from coming back in those ridiculous tv reincarnations. Any good security officer would know that Zero Gravity Kung Fu is the MA for human trekies.

Confused Could have been worse...

At least she does a real MA, better than that Ambo-jutsu nonsense Riker and his old man are into.

Blindfolded bo fighting with full pads and crash helmets? My word...

what's with the black pants? does she have her starfleet uniform under the gi top? and where did that ninja wannabe come from?

not to mention the folks dressed in african looking attire...

If I didn't do Aikido, I would have to say that Worf's Tai Chi-looking Klingon forms are much more appealing....

Yes she put the gi over the uniform.

The folks dressed in the attire are "visitors"...

The ninja-wannabe is actually named "Aikido", and he represents the ship's martial arts program.

Talking

thats not a GI its a futuristic pyjama dress!

look how long it is, anyhoo warf's klingon martial arts are actualy based around Tai chi btw, just to prove how geeky i am and yes i am a geek and proud of it not a major tv watchin one but at least a techno type science geek

i own the T-shirt "go away or i will replace you with a small shell script" i think its kewl but thats just me.

btw just to change the subject i watched most of under seige 2 last night (in between lord of the rings i want an elven two handed sword i'd take it to lessons!) and was rather upset i didnt get to see at least one tenchi nage i think i saw him to one kotegaishi but thats it

other then that the film sucked

maybe he should stick to aikido and drop films entirely?

Unhappy

I saw the last 20 minutes of Under Siege 2 too, pretty good irimi, and a text book Shihonage during a knife fight. Seagal Sensei's acting may be wooden but his Aikido certainly isn't
