On The Anonymous Forum

Hi everyone,

It seems to me as though there has been an increase of people who are starting to abuse the anonymous posting system in the Anonymous forum. The Anonymous forum was created to allow people with sensitive issues in aikido to communicate with others in a supportive atmosphere. Taking advantage of the freedom of posting that the Anonymous forum provides is a breach in this trust.

As I have said before, if you feel the need to attack someone on a personal level anonymously, this is not the venue for such behavior.

I hope I will not have to close the Anonymous forum down, but please note that I have begun banning IP addresses.

My wish is to have a place where we can support people with sensitive issues -- not attack, deride, nor undermine from behind an anonymous facade. Let's all please subscribe to that wish and keep this a place of respect, sharing, and maturity.

Thank you.

-- Jun

Re: The Anonymous Forum

Hello Jun,

I agree with you 100%. I thought aikido was "the way of harmony" or "the harmoniess way". I didn't think we needed to have any personal issues. I thought we were here to talk about aikido and what it's done for us, may be help those who just began their training. I know I'm new to this web forum, but please let me know if I have or ever over step my boundaries. Thanks.

Re: The Anonymous Forum

I am a huge fan of freedom of speech and the need to practice being compassionate towards ignorance and arrogance.

I prefer to self-censor who and what I post. I was once told to "never get in a pissing match with a skunk." Good advice.

So, while I would prefer we just not feed the trolls, I have seen forum suffer due to their old policy of tolerance. Thanks for having the larger good in mind. Too bad you have to.

Re: On The Anonymous Forum

Martial behavior is training to win a fight.

Martial arts is about training to excel.

Without acceptable and proven principles to guide us, we have little hope to grow and excel in our pursuit of excellence.

Respect is a key principle, one we dare not ignore in dealing honorably with one another.

Thank you Jun, for maintaining the level of integrity, mutual respect and class, befitting a valuable Forum such as Aiki Web.

We must all resolve to assist and support you in keeping it so!

I do.

In Oneness
