"Aikido female master of disabled kids"

Posted 2011-03-25 10:50:05 by Jun Akiyama
News URL: http://english.vietnamnet.vn/en/soci...bled-kids.html

This article entitled "Aikido female master of disabled kids" highlights 65-year old Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) who teaches aikido to blind, hearing-impaired, and Downs Syndrome children.

From the article: "Ha Thanh, 21, a Downs Syndrome patient, can play guitar, sing very well and has a passion for Aikido. Thanh's mother said that since she joined the Aikido class, she has become very agile, jolly and says hello and goodbye to her mother whenever she leaves or arrives home. "She told me that she was very happy to go to the Aikido class because she has many friends there. Whenever she has good food, she brings it to the class to share with classmates," her mother said."

Great story and photos.
I have taught both disabled and blind people, I found it very rewarding, makes one appreciate life rather than constantly bitching about it.
Appreciated.

It takes an unbelievable amount of patient to teach kids who are not disabled.

I can not imagine the amount of patient this woman has.

God bless her.

Very heartwarming. God bless her! It quickly reminds us to quite complaining and enjoy the training for training sake and forget about rank and improvement for rank. Train for the love of it. Thanks for sharing.
