Girl supply question: sports bras

Sports bras!
I'm a 34/36' D
I've bought 5million of them. It is actually hard for me to find sports bras in my size anyways. If you have big cup sizes, they assume you are over weight so the band sizes are usually 40 inches plus for D cups. And if you find 34-36 inch bands the cups are usually B's and C's..Meh
I've tried Different types, high impact, to the weird boned kind. It doesn't survive Aikido Ukemi for me. It down right hurts. I've tried duct taping the bra tighter recently... but duct tape don't breath and isn't very flexible... and itchy!

Any other small framed, well endowed ladies who have found an answer to this problem?

Re: Girl supply question: sports bras

'fraid not, Maggie. What works best for me (D-cup as well) is wearing a very tight sleeveless shirt ( mine his of 80% cotton, 10% elasthan). Bras hurt that's for sure
No more aching breasts, even my nipple piercings don't get hurt in them just because I'm kind of "packed tight" in this shirt. Hope this helps.

Re: Girl supply question: sports bras

I always use Natori sports bras and they come in a full range of sizes. You can order online via Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Natori-Womens-.../dp/B00361ESA8
or if you are near a Nordstrom they carry them.

you can also try enell. They do carry a wide range of fits and tend to cater to the hard to fit person. Expensive but I have heard very good things.

Re: Girl supply question: sports bras

I might need to try a mixture of the tight shirt and super supportive bra thing. I'll keep the duct tape in the gym bag just in case!

I'm going to guess you'll find a Natori will work well.

Re: Girl supply question: sports bras

Have you looked into Nike or Victorias Secret? VS is more size specific (cup and band) instead of M, L, XL, etc. So they may give you a better fit. I don't know if it states in their description what level impact they are geared for. I know you can search Nike based on impact level of the exercise. Anyway, I have and use both and both are great. Mine are for higher impact because I used them for tennis.

I've tried VS in the past. They held good, but honestly they fall apart easily.

Re: Girl supply question: sports bras

Then try Nike. If they make sports bras that can contain Serena Williams on the tennis court, they HAVE to have something for you.

Re: Girl supply question: sports bras

You know, I had great luck for a while with a cheap Danskin high-impact sports bra in a 36D. Only $9.99 at Walmart and it was both comfy and gave great support - I was so geeked! Unfortunately, the last time I was there the only 36D high impact had a big old zipper up the front - not so good for Aikido!

Re: Girl supply question: sports bras

Hi Maggie,

I use a kind of bra from champion (we call it "bustier", but the dictionary doesn't know the word...). Keeps everything tight and I like it better than a shirt. It's also made of material that takes the sweat away from your body to the outside of the bra. Doesn't have any zippers. Very comfortable.

Me neither! I actually went ahead and bought the silly thing because I can use it for the gym. Not only does it have the stupid zipper, but it is black with florescent pink trim, so it does indeed look very 1980's. Seriously though, the two Danskin sports bras I had purchased last year I really loved.

I really like the Fruit of the Loom Sports bras from Wally world too. But not sure if this would help the OP since her size requirements might be harder to find off the rack.

Not scared, it's a concern for you.
Have you considered compression garments made by "Skins" or other manufacturers?

No, but I have tried duct tape...it fixes everything you see.

I'll look it up, thanks!

Thanks to this thread, I found out that the founder of Natori is a Filipina (Josie Natori nee Cruz)... I'm proud of fellow Filipinos who succeed overseas..
