Hello All

I'm new here, and new to Aikido...I come to you as a humble roko-kyu.

I've only been studying for a month now, but it seems before summer is out, my job will ship me overseas, specifically to Taiwan, though there is a chance I will have to go to Japan.

After living in Japan for a couple years, I know life can be rough on a gaijin at times. I was wondering if studying Aikido in Asia will be a difficult task, or if they are generally enthusiastic about a foreigner studying martial arts? Any advice from someone who has been through it would be greatly appreciated!

Lightbulb lee sensei

hello,

I know there is a very old and very good and famous sensei in Taiwan.
His name is Lee Sensei.

I think that with some reaserch on the internet you may find his address. If you can't find it I am sure that Tokyo Hombu Dojo should be able to help you locate him.

I have his book and video. My sensei (Koyama Sensei from Kyoto Aikikai) used to train with him at Tanaka Bansen's Dojo in Osaka.

good luck!!!

Ze'ev

Excellent...thanks for the help.

I emailed that particular Dojo a day or 2 ago, still awaiting a response. Hopefully I'll hear back from them soon.

Do you know if they speak English?

Thanks again.
