Book: "Weapons Techniques"
I received this book today in the mail. I have read the first few pages, and slowly flipped through the rest. I can already tell that this is going to be a good one. Phong Thong Dang Sensei and our beloved Lynn Seiser, PhD., have clearly compiled an excellent work full of photos and clear instruction. I already strongly believe this will greatly enhance my knowledge of weapon usage and takeaways. Like some others who have endured the hardships of earning the highest degree in academia, Dr. Seiser's writing is pleasant to read with a level of clarity that I know will keep me right on track. My only disappointment is that Dr. Seiser is not an uke for Dang Sensei in the photos. Dr. Seiser being a sandan, I was surprised at this. My most incredible observation thus far is that Dang Sensei has an enviable posture on the mat, and never appears off his center in the slightest. I haven't heard of Dr. Seiser's rokudan sensei until now, and so far I am impressed by what I see.
A big thanks to the authors,
Drew

Re: Book: "Weapons Techniques"
Oh yes, all the books that Phong Sensei has published are very well presented. I especially liked his basics issue since it made several points clear in wys I hadn't heard expressed before.

Re: Book: "Weapons Techniques"
Osu,
Thank you all for your kind words. We have been pleased with the reception that the 3 books have received.
The books were not about me, but about Sensei Dang Thong Phong and Tenshinkai Aikido. While I have been my Sensei's uke several times in demonstrations, I was busy behind the scenes and wanted Phong Sensei to be to sole focus. The photo on the cover of the first two is the only place you will see me (upside down).
Again, we are humbled by everyone's acceptance and kind words for our efforts.
Rei, Domo.
