Re: What is up with Bu Jin?

I tie my hakama the same way, and my solution to the short himo problem was that budogu.com (where I had ordered my hakama from) sent me a little extra material to make the himo longer. I don't know if Bu Jin would offer the same service?

Love my tetron hakama, btw.

Here's my method, perhaps someone can point me at another way that will fix the short himo problem.
Step into hak. Bring rear panel up around waist, slide rear himo under belt from above at my sides, bring the straps to the front and tie in a bow. Bring front panel up and in front of belt. From above, slide top few inches of front panel, including himo, between belt and gi, pulling front himo through. Wrap front himo around back, around belly, around back again, bring to front and tie in a knot. Put the free ends in a neat flat bow.
Hi Krystal,

That's exactly how I'm tying mine and it's the exact same length as my 3 old Bujin Hakama.

Best Regards,
John

Re: What is up with Bu Jin?

I'ma compare himo between my old and new. I bet I can get another couple inches if I put some tension on the straps for a while.

I was concerned about what I'd do when I lost the weight I'm losing, so I am almost glad the thing isn't quite right....

Re: What is up with Bu Jin?

Might be off topic... but when I checked out the Tozando Shop the other day they were offering a custom made hakama option for Aikido.

Seemed interesting enough...

Re: What is up with Bu Jin?

Well I got tired of waiting for Bu Jin to start building their weapons bags. My students have bought a bunch of junk that has fallen apart. I have found a manufacturer and his first run should be ready in a week or two.

I will probably connect him to a few weapons sellers, and dojos that may want to sell them directly.

I will keep you 'posted'.

Re: What is up with Bu Jin?

Larry,

I have been looking for several years for a weapons bag as good as Bu Jin and finally found one a couple of months ago. Check out twotreesdesign.com. The only thing they sell (so far) are bags and they are excellent. Give em a try and let me know what you think.
