Nishi health system

I read that O'Sensei used stretching exercises from the Nishi Health system as part of his warm up routine. Does anyone know which exact exercises did he use?

I heard that he was pleased with the "goldfish" exercise, kingyo undo.

In our warm up routine we do this one, and hifuku undo. I don't know if this part goes back to O Sensei, but my teacher studied in Hombu Dojo from 1955 to 1965.

Thanks Markus, is there any video on hifuku undo? I only found this picture on the Aikido Sangenkai blog: https://www.aikidosangenkai.org/blog...ifuku-undo.png

They remind me of Masatomi Ikeda's Genkikai: https://www.facebook.com/filippin.re...5409485509988/

I know Ikeda Sensei officially added some exercises from the Nishi system but I don't know which exactly.

Re: Nishi health system

Here's a photo of kingyo undo, the goldfish exercise from the original Nishi Shiki book. The exercise can be performed in various ways as the illustrations show.

If you Google "nishi system" or "Nishi Shiki" it's the same system that comes up, so there's no need to translate 80-year-old Japanese, as it's all available in English now.

Naturally having something useful to say is like natural responses during training: It takes much practice.

I don't know any video.

It is important to move your upper body like a pendulum (don't shift your hips left and right), and at the same time move your belly front and back, when you are straight move it inside, and when you move left or right, outside.
Let your hands rest on your thighs, relaxed, palms look each other or a little bit downward, and when you move left, your left palm turns upward naturally, and if you go right, your right palm turns upward.
Do one left-right movement per second, or a Little bit slower. it's not so easy to do it right when you move too fast
