Re: Aikido in Arkansas

Have you tried using the AikiWeb Dojo Search Engine and its radius/proximity search function?

Re: Aikido in Arkansas

Strange -- doing the same search for me returns three dojo.

All I used as search criteria were "Bentonville" for city, "Arkansas" for state, and "50" (miles) for the radius.

Re: Aikido in Arkansas

If this place isn't too far away from where you'll be, you'd be well served to check out this dojo. I met Randy Beard Sensei this winter. He is a great martial artist and a great guy to boot.

Re: Aikido in Arkansas

NWA Aikido is a satellite of my dojo - Gyokushinkan dojo in Fort Smith, AR. James Jones is our dojo cho.

I have trained with Moreland sensei (NWA)for four years now and you will be very pleased with him. He has previously been an uchideshi under Andy Sato and Edward Germanov (Bulgaria) and has trained all over the country.

Feel free to visit www.aikidoworldalliance.com

I am a student of Randy Beard sensei. Our dojo is location is not far from Bentonville and we do offer aikido & aikibujutsu training as well as shinkendo (japanese swordsmanship), bojutsu and of course jojutsu. We are affiliated with the aikibujutsu tanren kenyukai and international shinkendo federation. You can find out more about this at www.shinkendo.com . Please call the dojo and speak with Mr. Beard sensei or his wife and make a time to stop by the dojo.

Greg Null sensei:

I am surprised to see NWA Aikido in Springdale. I was not aware of it! May i ask, what "style" of aikido is taught? I mean is it from maybe from Tomiki or the Aikikai? Or should i contact the senior instructor here in springdale with these questions?

I am a student at Gyokushinkan Dojo in Fort Smith, so I will field this Question for Greg Null, and I hope he will not mind my attempt to help. The NWA Aikido as a satellite of Gyokushinkan Dojo, teaches Aikikai style Aikido.
You may also find useful information and a way to contact Moreland Sensei at the NWA Aikido webpage at http://www.nwaaikido.com/index.php. The Aikido World Alliance page is also a wonderful source of information on our association.

Just my bit to help,
Matthew
