Just a quick update on Sugano sensei (8th dan, New York Aikikai) as found on the New York Aikikai website: "April 2nd. Sugano Sensei underwent three and a half hours of additional surgery to prepare his leg for the prosthesis. His surgeon and the prosthetists in attendance are very pleased with the results. However, they emphasized that rest and privacy are crucial to the next phase of his healing and rehabilitation. A rigid cast with a temporary prosthesis was applied in the operating room immediately after the surgery; it will stay in place for a full week, during which Sensei will be resting in bed. The more aggressive stage of rehabilitation should begin after several weeks." Best wishes to Sugano sensei in his recovery and rehabilitation!
