I have just received word that Ubaldo Alcantara (aka Kami, Yamantaka) passed away on September 6th, 2002 due to a heart attack followed by respiratory complications. Ubaldo was an avid researcher of aikido facts and history whose love for the art permeated every piece of writing that he submitted on the AikiWeb Forums as well as other venues such as the Aikido Journal website and the Aikido-L Mailing list. His son, Renato, has started this thread on the AikiWeb Forums to announce his passing. My condolensces go out to his family, friends, and loved ones. He will be missed. -- Jun

Renato,

Although I never met your father personally, I considered him a true friend. We've shared many the conversations via the various BB's and in private e-mailings.

As Jun said, he will be missed deeply.

Con Dios,

Steven Miranda
