Re: Ordering a bokken/jo

Sorry Russ,
I wasn't trying to make you feel bad or give you buyer's remorse. If you can afford a Kingfisher, more power to you. I'd love to try one myself, but I need to save my money for seminars and things. My words were for others in the same boat I am, need something decent but also need to balance the budget... besides, I think somewhere down the line you may decide you need more than one bokken, in which case you may remember our recommendations at a later date...

Re: Ordering a bokken/jo

Hey Linda, it's no problem really. I wasn't taking that messege from you at all. I'm easy going anyways, so it's all good. I did want to explain my background a little becuase I am new to this forum and it does sound a little eager to spend that much.

Take care,

Re: Ordering a bokken/jo

I bought a white oak bokken from this site. Great place and the prices are reasonable plus the quality is top notch.

Re: Ordering a bokken/jo

(sorry, I can't resist)

How to order a bokken/jo: Set the weapon on the mat in front of you and shout at it in a loud voice, "You! Get up and do something! Now!" Don't expect immediate results.

(again I apologise)

My Century Martial Arts white oak bokken has held up really well.... it was like $12.00.... I just did some sanding and then put a few coats of oil onto it....
