Doing Aikido after a brain injury?
I will preface this by saying that before we do anything we will check with her doctor.
My wife had a brain aneurysm in dec '14 / jan '15. She has undergone procedures to mitigate it. Since then the doctors have told her to exercise. I encouraged her to start doing yoga again, but se doesn't seem interested. Encouraged her to try Tai Chi with me, not interested. She's starting doing belly dance on the youtube recently I hope she keeps up with.
The other day I was packing my jo up for class and she said emphatically, "I want to learn some weapons!" I'm ecstatic. Who doesn't need a partner to do kumi jo with? I showed her some of the Saito Sensei weapons videos and she seems interested.
We have talked about her doing Aikido with me before and I would love for her to, if she's able. She thinks the rolls might be too much to mess with her head, but I think maybe a once a week in the park session of bokken and jo suburi, maybe some awase?
Anyone have any thoughts on that?
