Hello

Hello all, new to this site and Aikido, but not to martial arts. I am from central Illinois and will be starting officially saturday. I am 50 years old and after a long layoff from martial arts (do to injury and health) am looking forward to it. I am thinking of perhaps starting a Blog, to have a record of my experience considering my Age and Disabilities, but will see.

Re: Hello

Todd, welcome. There are many older aikidoka, some in the art a long time, some who started later. Many of us are adapting our training to account for the "dings" our bodies have accumulated.

Re: Hello

Hello Todd,

I am in your age group and it's nice to know that you took the first step to this glorious journey of ours . Like what I've said before,,,,, practice UKEMI, UKEMI and more UKEMI to overcome the fear of going down the mats. There will be no good NAGE without a good UKE.

Welcome to AIKIWEB Todd.

Best regards
