...and then there was also the school here in New Zealand, who tried to ban school children from doing cartwheels in the playground. That didn't happen, but what a public outcry.

My wife got in trouble as a substitute teacher at our local public school for allowing the kids to slide on the frozen ice puddles last winter.

...Actually, I think she was showing them how to slide on the puddles. But anyway.

Evolution doesn't prove God doesn't exist, any more than hammers prove carpenters don't exist.

Or standard German approach with little ones which is get them outdoors running around in grass and trees regardless of the weather. Much healthier.

My sister wrote a great memoir called "When I was a boy" about our childhood years in Somalia. Her point was that there we did go unsupervised most of the day. I remember taking one of our ponies out alone to visit a friend a couple of miles away--I was 6 or 7 at the time. I'll see if she ever put it online.
