一期一会 (Ichigo, Ichie)

Try sitting still, eyes closed, and slowly count to ten without an interfering thought.

Our thoughts race as the world races. We recall the past and imagine the future while ignoring the present.

I say that the past is dead and the future is not yet written.

We have only now.

Let silence be my mantra.

The past is gone and we cannot change it but within the past lies the ability to affect the future in the present.

Re: 一期一会 (Ichigo, Ichie)

what if you have itchy back and can't reach the damn spot while you count to 10, and you are flopping on the floor trying to reach the spot? trying to wish the itchiness go away?
