"450 girls learn Aikido to defend against sexual violence"

Posted 2012-04-21 16:14:50 by Jun Akiyama
News URL: http://www.albawaba.com/editorchoice...iolence-421740

This article entitled http://"450 girls learn Aikido to de...xual violence" highlights a year-long program in stopping sexual abuse organized by the Lebanese Council to Resist Violence Against Women in which 450 girls underwent a 16-week aikido program.

From the article: The program was developed with the intention of teaching students "the idea that any person can attack them, or sexually abuse them, either by words or by touching," Yassir said, and enable them to "understand the differences between flirting, let's say, and sexual harassment."
