Just saw this news on Facebook. Yoji Fujimoto sensei (8th dan) moved to Italy in 1970 to help Hiroshi Tada sensei in spreading aikido there.

Re: Passing of Yoji Fujimoto Sensei

My condolences go out to Fujimoto sensei's family, friends, students, and loved ones.

Here is a translated 1993 interview that was conducted with him that I found:

Re: Passing of Yoji Fujimoto Sensei

Never seen my teacher (Fujimoto Sensei's "child" ) crying before...
We held a little ritual ceremony last night to honour his memory.
May he rest in peace and may his beloved ones have the strengh to go through this difficult situation...

Re: Passing of Yoji Fujimoto Sensei

My memory of Fujimoto Sensei is of when he was invited to teach at a British Aikido Federation Spring Course in Wales ten years or so ago, and I remember vividly his gentle manner and clear instruction.

He shared the teaching with Kanetsuka Sensei that weekend, and one thing that really surprised and impressed me was to see him joining in with the class in Kanetsuka Sensei's session as a student. That was the first and last time I have ever seen a Japanese shihan do that, and says a lot to me about his open-mindedness and humility.

Re: Passing of Yoji Fujimoto Sensei

Dear all,
Fujimoto Sensei - beautiful aikido, fluid and powerful, his kokyu nage /koshi waza were wonderful. Very modest and he was a great teacher. At the 5th International Aikido Congress in Paris his demo imo was one of the best I have ever seen.He was also a very nice man socially .Soft spoken , quiet and gentle man off the tatami.
Sad to say the Aikido world has lost a great teacher.I have fond memories of him which I will cherish. I send my condolences to his family and friends , With much respect, Joe

Dear All,
As you may well know I am not a young buck anymore. My memory[[the one uni cell]is diminishing rapidly.Although I met Fujimoto Sensei in the early seventies and he gave me such a nikkyo[ I still cringe while remembering it]I have inadvertently confused him with Kitaura Sensei. I believe Fujimoto Sensei , Hosakawa Sensei , and Kitaura Sensei were in Paris at the above convention hence my mistake..I certainly remember him from my Aikikai of G.B./B.A.F days. Again my sympathies to his family and friends.Joe

Re: Passing of Yoji Fujimoto Sensei

My condolences.
My first experience of Fujimoto Sensei was in London (ca 1972-3). He impressed with his fluid technique and power - and also the fact that he taught suwari-waza, jodan tsuki udegaraminage

He will be sorely missed.
