Aikido: Its Heart and Appearance

Has anybody hear got/read a copy of this book by Morihiro Saito?

I'm interested in buying it, but would like to know a little about its content first, if possible...

Regards

Re: Aikido: Its Heart and Appearance

Published in 1975, 148 pages, paperback. For such a small book it's packed with lots of information. Weapons with/without partner, empty hand techniques, relationship of empty hand techniques to same technique with bokken, variations of techniques. The photos are spread across the page (or two pages) to show the flow of the technique; with a little practice I learned to follow (and appreciate) the photo arrangement. There are drawings of foot placements.

The downside is that the photos are dark and small; hard to see intricacies of hand placement, etc., but there are often separate photos of hand holds.

I think it's a good book. I'm glad you asked about it. I haven't looked at it in a long time.

Re: Aikido: Its Heart and Appearance

My mistake. It's 128 pages, not 148.
