*Frustastic.
enrolled in the second semester, spent half of it away from training dealing with family and work matters.
while I was training?.. fantastic

*Frustastic: a combination of fantastic and frustrating.

Re: Your Life in Aikido in 2009 in One Word

1 word, Jun? Are you kidding me? : ]

For me, it's a 9-way tie for first:
- Gratitude
- Intent
- Contact
- Connection
- Healing
- Opening
- Contradictory
- Counter-Intuitive

But if I had to pick just one..... AikiWeb!

I have frequently been told to grow up, but I would not hold my breath waiting for that to happen !

Re: Your Life in Aikido in 2009 in One Word

my word would be split between " WHAT" and "WHY"
Meaning, What did I just do, and Why did I do that????
Is it supposed to be this frustrating to walk and chew gum at the same time??

Happy new year,
Gary

Bummin! I was just thinking about you recently. I can relate though, I did some damage to my knee in March 09 and it's still healing.

My word: reconciliatory

Re: Your Life in Aikido in 2009 in One Word

Growth.

2009 was the year I:
Went to my first summer camp
Did forward rolls on my right side for the first time
Started to find my center
Got noticeably stronger in my legs (quads)
Made 4th kyu
Trained more in a week than I ever thought possible, without injury
Met some people who have become great friends
Really started to know how much I don't know

If I'm lucky, in 2010 I will:
Improve my posture in hammi
Strengthen my core and legs (quads)
Get my upper and lower body connected to each other
Keep my elbows in!
move my hips more
bend my knees more
Train more off the mat
