how to avoid getting beaten up 'on the street.'
For the question that comes up over and over...
1) get out of the street.
2) don't be an ass (could also be: stay off the street when drunk).
3) buy a gun and get a carry permit.
4)....?

In the early 1970s a woman I went to art school with in NY did just that, every night, walking from her subway stop to her apartment, grimacing, shrugging, monologuing, .... and gangs of toughs on the streetcorners would back away....

Haha! Can you imagine wearing this in the West? It would make you at least 10 times as likely to be attacked, vandalised, graffiti-covered, robbed, kicked and spat on. Oh, and chewing gum would be inserted into any reachable orifice too. Top marks for creativity though!

Re: how to avoid getting beaten up 'on the street.'
I don't know if this is simpler or more complex but if you really want to avoid getting beaten up "on the street" then...why don't you just get yourself beaten up inside the gym, at the apartment hallway or if you want to push maybe even the sidewalk.

Re: how to avoid getting beaten up 'on the street.'
Hey all,
I found ducking worked very well
(several years ago person about 4 years older than me near broke his hand on a bin trying to punch me 'showing off' to his friend ) poor bin....
that and glaring at the broken bottle weilder (his friends talked him out of the idea lol)
Grant
- serious note though - if possible don't antagonise and don't get involved - if you can, run.
|
Never will you get a more patronising look than when you try Aikido on a cat...
