Keith Larman Passes Away

I just received the very sad news that long-time aikido practitioner and AikiWeb member Keith Larman has passed away from complications from pancreatitis.

Keith held a yondan in Seidokan aikido and was dojocho at the Aikido Institute of America dojo in Los Angeles, CA. He was very accomplished in polishing Japanese swords through his business Summer Child Polishing.

My condolences go out to his family, friends, students, dojo-mates, and loved ones.

Re: Keith Larman Passes Away

Oh, such a sad loss. I had been following his Facebook page, where his wife had been posting updates. But there hadn't been any for weeks. Keith was so gifted in his ability to bring a sword into its best light, and was always quick with sage advice on polishing and mounting. But above that, he was wise, and funny, and loved his family above all things. My heart goes out to his wife and daughter, and all who called him kin or friend. May his memory always be a blessing for them.

Re: Keith Larman Passes Away

A rare voice of sharp reason and kindness. I deeply appreciate the few interactions we shared. For an almost complete stranger, Keith's presence means a lot to me and I am grateful to have been able to have shared those conversations with him. He was patient and observant with me.
Very few strangers will I miss as much as I already miss him.
I know something of what it is like to lose a father at around that age. Love to his family and his friends.
