I drive to my schools (although I lived closer when I founded them) between 30-45 minutes.

I used to drive about 40 minutes to one school, and about 25 to another. Now its much better, about 15 minutes. The problem is I sometimes drive as much as 3 hours for my job. I may have to relocate a bit to cut down on the job driving, and that will have me travelling a long way for practise again. Oh well, good training is worth it.

And I agree! I drive about 40 minutes each way to my dojo. I think the drive is definitely worth it. And actually, I enjoy the drive...it's a good way to destress from the day and I actually get a chance to THINK. (I have 3 kids, LOL)

It takes me 10 minutes to drive from home. But I work in the building that's next to the dojo. So I only need 2 minutes to get there after work!

In Singapore it is about 35 Minutes walking and MRT (from my office), and back it is a bit less maybe 20 minutes.
In Germany (I'll be back there in April), it is a walk of about 90 seconds ;-).
bye,

10-15 minutes where I train.
25-30 minutes where I teach.

Go figure. The dojo I have decided to train at is approx. 40 minutes from where I live and there is an aikido dojo about 3 minutes from where I work. Two in fact.
Distance can be a problem but when you've found a good dojo with excellent teachers and fellow students that share your passion then the drive is well worth it.

The dojo that I train at is about a 3 minute walk from my house - and I don't mind a bit!

I used to live around the corner from where I train. Then my wife and I had a child and bought a home about 60 minutes away. Then, last year I got a new job which is also at least an hour from the dojo. There are several dojos in the area which would be closer to work and home, but for me none of them can beat the quality of the people and space where I'm training now.

I just wondered about the following:What does this poll measure?
Would one get similar results for other questions like "How long does it take to get to the cinema from your home?".

Re: Poll: How long does it take to get to your aikido dojo from home?
Nothing like a pretty bell distribution, even if skewed, from a large sample size. Good ole statistics.
