I really think just sitting in seiza while reading a book or watching TV is a good way to train at home.

It doesn't take a lot of room, it doesn't disturb the neighbours, it's excellent practice for balance and body control and good for mental discipline. It will also make sitting in seiza for long periods of time in the dojo while watching a test or waiting for you own test a great deal easier and safer.
