i think that physically extending ki, is like when you practice with the bokken. you extend the ki to the end of the bokken. now the bokken becomes an extention of you.
same with the tennis racket .
practicing with the bokken, you dont swing it around with your arms. because you dont want the connection to be with the arms only....
it moves with your body, and is a part of your center,thus using less energy to use it.
