It's not the usual kanji for peace. Maybe a good way to think of it is "at ease." The Chinese reading is
Kou, Japanese:
ko,
michi,
yasu and
yasushi. The first word that I think would spring to mind for most people would be
kenkou 健康 meaning ‘health'.
