I contacted an individual whom I was certain would know what it was and much to my surprise did not. This probably means it doesn't apply here in the US. Interesting, as there seems to be a dilineation between Iwama Ryu and the Kambu Kai.
Maybe you should post this over in the Aikido Journal forum. If nothing else Stan Pranin would probably know.
