He was a student of Seigo Yamaguchi - now, Yamaguchi was soft, but he touched me every time he threw me that I remember.
I actually had a discussion about this with one of Takeda's contemporaries (also a Yamaguchi student). He started out with "brain-washing" and "hypnotism" and it went downhill from there - at the end he said "Well, it's not a very good way to train".
