Basically learning and teaching Aikido are two sides of the same hand.

In our lineage we say when you start your own dojo you get shodan. As this is the first step to independence and finding your (W)way. This does not mean you then go without a teacher .

In the past my teacher suddenly start asking if I had started my own dojo yet, which off course I had not. Next time I saw him, again the question. Then you start :-)

In a real fight:
* If you make a bad decision, you die.
* If you don't decide anything, you die.
Aikido teaches you how to decide.
