There's many, many paths (or perhaps the word is "techniques") that can lead a person to essentially the same appreciation of Take Musu Aiki that you refer to. In fact, there's plenty of anecdotes to support the idea that any activity done with correct intention can lead to transformation. But somehow we who are reading this have chosen Aikido...why is that? For me, it might be because my existential fear takes a pretty physical form. I am (my ego is) afraid of being beaten up, I want (my ego wants) to know I have the power/ability to defend myself from big scary people...so I am drawn to martial art expression of the basic practice of relaxing and aligning/flowing with the universe. Is it similar for the rest of you all?
