I've used that as well, Craig, but it still involves (for me at this point at least) dropping them in a way that some beginners can get hurt. They stick a hand out behind them, putting their wrist at risk, etc. Using the yonkyo grip in shiho, when they spin out, I keep control of their shoulder, and guide them safely into a front sliding breakfall and pin them face down. Very little risk to them involved.
