Be carefule about dyeing them.. My wife & I had some nice white hakama made for our wedding, with the idea of dying them black later for use on the mat.

First, the dye - we did use RIT - didn't take too well, so my hakama came out gray instead.
Second, the material for the hakama wasn't pre-shrunk, so after the dyeing and drying, it came to just below my knees.

Boy does it look silly now!

You could also make your own... get the material and a pattern, which is what we did for our wedding some years ago (I try not to think about how many!)
