Re: Ju-Jitsu to compliment Aikido

This is a BIG question, that cannot be simply answered. Aikido is strongly related to traditional Japanese martial arts (koryu), especially traditional Jujutsu. Traditional Jujutsu is a very large subject. If you are interested in understanding Aikido, looking at traditional Jujutsu is a good first step. I don't think you can even begin to understand what Aikido really is until you make a study of Traditional Jujutsu.

Check out koryu.com learn a little more about traditional Japanese martial arts. And start reading lot's of Stanley Pranin. Aikido Journal is a very, very useful resource for those interested in figuring out what Aikido is. If you are simply interested in learning Aikido, this is not a necessary step to take (until much much later in training, anyways).
