Hi Adrian,
I think learning the terms is a hinderance to structuring your understanding at the start - get a book on aikido like 'complete aikido' by Yamada (be aware that Yoshinkan sometimes use slightly different terms). Also, look at your grading syllabus and try to learn the terms for the techniques you will have to do for your next grading.
