This article entitled "Lessons from Japan" highlights Mr Mark Larson, 5th dan, who teaches aikido in St Cloud, Minnesota at the Minnesota Aiki Shuren Dojo.

From the article:

He marvels at how Aikido parallels other areas of life, including writing: "You learn style, then purpose, then the process, then dealing with people. Just like with Aikido." [...]

Larson's mentor was Morihiro Saito, who had spent 1946 through 1969 with Aikido's founder, Morihti Ueshiba, a relationship that ended only with the older man's death. Similarly, Larson stayed with Saito, as a live-in student, in the city of Iwana, from 1993 through 2002 when Saito passed away.

"It was very special to learn at the place or origin of Aikido and walk on the same mats as the founder," said Larson.
