gleason sensei has really interesting things to say about breathing. he talks about receiving the attack with your breath before you recieve it with you body; that when uke comes in to attack, you should breathe him up into your nose and capture his ki. sounds weird and pseudo-mystical, and indeed gleason sensei is both of those things, but it's also quite interesting and apt.
