I was once in a similar situation:

When I visited Japan, I practiced with 3 different teachers, and each of them had his own different style. So far, nothing special, but two of them (both 8 dan) were in conflict as to the proper way to perform several tai-sabaki, the basis of movement in Korindo system. As for quality control, each stated he asked Korindo founder (Minoro Hirai), and the latter said his version and interpretation is right.

It was quite funny for me, and reminded of an old joke. But I could understand the founder meaning, each of their approaches had benefits for practicing it, hence, both were right and good, it's just that non were exclusive, despite those highly appreciated teachers explanations.
