Dan's referring to the 60 degree thing, I think. I've posted a blog (
http://www.aikidosangenkai.org/blog/...budo-and-kamae) about that one. I'm not sure how it addresses "how do you know" except on a very gross scale. Neither of those really go to the original question, IMO.
