Good old Erle. I seem to remember another article of his in which he suggests that Yang Lu Chan's descendents may have watered down his taiji for mass consumption leaving a legacy that is something of a mixed blessing. On the one hand we are left with a martial art that doesn't quite live up to its reputation anymore. On the other the art is still practiced in some form rather than fading into obscurity.
