I started to write a long whine about how your situation with respect to your mother and my sister's situation with respect to my mom parallels and contrasts.. . . Needless to say, you're a lot better off, 'cause, while you still get jerked off center, I'm sure you have a much better skills for recovering your center and balance.

I'm at a stage in learning Aikido where ukemi is the most important skill I'm learning.

Learning how to take a fall and bounce right back up feels really amazing, and it feels like I'm doing that constantly when I'm with my mother - She's not really trying to throw me, but her expectations of me versus my reality have a lot of conflict.
