Doka of the day
"The enemy comes running in to strike.
At the instant of the attack,
Avoid his strike with one step
And counter attack in that instant."
I think this is a particularly usefull doka for focusing on the timing of techniques. I usually prefer to train slowly to get the chance to really feel a technique out, but would also have to say I tend to learn timing a bit more slowly. Lately I've been trying to move more like the above quote idealizes, but that whole "instantaneous-coordination" thing is tough.
Any thoughts on training to make the above happen more easily?
