Re: Masahilo Nakazono Memorial Aikido Event 27th October 2007

The Masahilo Nakazono Event at Neath in Wales was a great success with approx 250 students and guests.
Jiro Nakazono Sensei the principal teacher was presented with a hand made tanto by Dave Rogers Sensei of New Mexico USA in memory of his father.
Dang Thang Phong Sensie was a an incredible man both on and off the tatami and he and his students made many friends on their first visit to the UK.
Gwynne Jones Sensie was the perfect host and sponsor of this most successful event.
Haydn Foster Sensei did not look like a man celebrating his 80th year and 50 th year of Aikido and still demonstrated with great effect.
Henry Ellis Sensie also celebrating his 50th year of Aikido was presented with a beautiful hand made tanto by Dave Rogers Sensie.

Derek Eastman sensei who will be celebrating his 50th year of Aikido next year demonstarted the very early styles of K Abbe - M Nakazono - T Abe - M Noro. his unique memory for such detail makes a great session.
Nine Circles Budo Supplies supported the event with a valuable Shinken sword for the raffle, which included a Nakazono family embroided Hakama and three signed books by M Nakazono Sensei.
Henry Ellis provided 3 signed copies of the book `Positive Aikido `
now available from Nine Circles or Amazon.
Dang Phong sensie provided 9 books all signed.

All the students were given a souvenir programme which was designed on the programme of the 1963 event at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
