Our policy at the Jiyushinkan requires that interested parties observe our practice before joining our practice. People with no experience are asked to watch four full practice sessions before applying for membership. Those who have significant prior experience are asked to watch for at least one session because our curriculum and method of training are most likely different than they're used to.

Anyone who is experienced and would like to train with us for a short time is welcome to do so by making contact in advance and introducing themselves. People that come in unannounced that we do not already know can not get on the mat the first time they come into the dojo.

We are not a commercial dojo that sells memberships and is "open to everyone that's willing to pay."
