The CAF is a well-established organization here in Canada, on the order of the various USAF organizations in the states (or those formerly known as the various USAF organizations in the states), and directly affiliated with Hombu dojo. The chief instructor is Kawahara shihan, who makes a considerable effort to travel to teach at each area under his wing 2-4 times a year. They are a friendly bunch, though I only know a few from Alberta.

My impression from visiting the local CAF dojo and attending their seminars in town is that they teach a very solid technically-oriented program. I sounds like (from the comments above) you have a choice between two solid groups of people. Have fun!
