Sorry, I don't know about any studies. I know only that when I first complained of it to my physician, he asked me if I was taking, or had taken, a daily aspirin regimen (some do for heart conditions and other ailments). He said prolonged aspirin use was often a cause of tinnitus. That's how I heard about it, and didn't ask him to elaborate, as I was not on aspirin.
