Since I have a few questions I would like to submit under the "Japanese Language" section, I thought it would be best to make a brief introduction of myself.
My name is Ethan Weisgard. I was born in the States (Connecticut), and I moved to Denmark with my whole family in 1969, when I was twelve years old. I have lived there ever since - except for a one year and three month stay in Japan with my wife and two children in 1990-91.
I have trained Aikido since 1976, first under Takeji Tomita Sensei, based in Stockholm Sweden, and then with his teacher Morihiro Saito Sensei, starting in 1984 - my first trip to Iwama.
I was in the Copenhagen Aikido Club for 27 years. I started my own

I have always been very impressed with the aikiweb.com site, using it often for reference, as well as just browsing the forum. Kudos to Jun Akiyama for the great work!
I am looking forward to being an active part of the forum!
Thanks for your thoughts about the site. Welcome to AikiWeb and thank you for your introduction.
Hello Ethan. Welcome aboard.
Since you have done the humble thing by NOT mentioning your books, I will do the honors. Your twin titles "Bukiwaza, Basic and Advanced: Aiki Jo" and "Bukiwaza, Basic and Advanced: Aiki Ken" are both excellent and detailed texts on weapons techniques. I would recommend them to anyone, regardless of style.
I hope you're not here just to ask questions, as I'm sure that your opinions and experiences would be of interest to us all.
Thanks very much for the welcome, and the kind words about my books. I am very glad to hear that they are appreciated.
I am looking forward to being as active a voice as I can be, as long as I have something worth contributing to the topics, that is! I find the discussions here very interesting and inspiring. Looking forward to being a part of it all!
