Hi everybody!
I'm starting to take aikido next Tuesday (I'm hot even a beginner yet, ha, but am really determined! :)), and I'm wondering if it is possible to buy a gi anywhere in Toronto, or must I order online?.... I suspect there are places in TO area that sell martial arts supplies, but no idea where to find them. Or maybe someone could recommend a place?.... Additionally, I was hoping for maybe some recommendation on which brand or kind of gi to buy. Thank you in advance! E.B. |
I've liked the Mizuno... very comfortable, relatively unexpensive...

It is a common practice among dojos to sell gi. Perhaps call the dojo, and ask if you can buy one before class starts (assuming they sell gi at the dojo). If not call the dojo and ask them where you can go. I know in my dojo, we have a deal with a Martial Arts shop. Maybe they have something similar.

Maybe your local dojo sell gi to new people. If you can't find aikido gi,
you can wear judo gi instead.. There are some internet shopping mall. http://www.bujindesign.com http://www.tozando.com Traditional gi pants is hard to get dressed while training. Therefore, if it's possible, try to find zipper or string type pants. |

Thank you very much everyone for your replies. I finally found a martial arts store in Toronto (who could've thought it'd be so hard to find one?! :)), and bought a judo gi. Starting practice today! Very excited! ;)
Thanks again :) |
