Question

I have a question:
Is it possible to study Aikido at the hombu dojo in Japan and work/live there as well (something like an intern)?

Thanks

If you mean the Aikikai Hombu, the answer is No. They stopped the practice several years ago.

I believe Mr Goldsbury means that you can practise at Hombu, but you can not live in the dojo.

Ahh right, I see what he means. Just had a bit of a blonde moment there!

Uchideshi Programs

Living and studying in an Aikido dojo is an uchideshi position. While Aikikai Hombu dojo may not have such a program, there are other dojos which do.

Aikiweb has a listing of uchideshi programs here. Most of them are in the USA, I know some Japanese dojos also have them. Perhaps a good web search will bring some viable options.

:) Good Luck
