Angry White Pyjamas is probably one of the best books I have read on Aikido.

It address most of the feelings I have felt about Aikido in only the first 4 chapters.

Just wondered what you guys thought about it?

I like the book - I've read it twice and pass it on to my friends (Budo and non-Budo).

It is the best Aikido themed book I've read - just not the best book on Aikido.

good book ,but where is the author now????

I also like to read the book. Even though

the author learned eastern martial arts,

it seemes that he was still a western man. Therefore, I like the book.

Some western people became KI and Japan

freaks after learning Aikido. I even saw a photo of an american man who was wearing hundoshi and hair band(in the middle the

flag of emperor army was drawn) and taking

a cold bath.

No, but my Sensei once gave us a talk for about 20 minutes, that was enough to kill my legs......... lol.

The Hajimi classes are the most intense!

Joe Thambu Sensei has put us through them, but with the dredded bunny hops (the punishment hops in AWP) at the end to finish!

My knees ache just thinking about it!

I have never had buddy hops, although I have had continous Kokyu nage ukemi....... :S

The bunny (buddy? :)) hops can give you nightmares! Especially if you are only 4 months out of a leg brace for a torn MCL!

It might sound doft doing it after that, and it is, but hey! I didn't stop training or teaching while I was in the brace either! :rolleyes:

When you love something, a little thing like a buggered knee won't stop you! :)
